What is a credit?
A credit is a unit of AI-powered usage in RankAsAnswer. Every time you trigger an action that requires AI processing or a live API call, it costs credits from your monthly allocation. Structural actions that don't require AI (browsing results, reading history, managing keywords) are always free.

Monthly reset
Credits reset on the 1st of each calendar month, not on your subscription anniversary date. This means all users reset at the same time. Unused credits do not roll over to the next month.
Your current credit balance and reset date are always visible at the top of your Dashboard in the usage indicator.

BYOK credit bypass
BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) allows any plan — including the Free tier — to run unlimited operations by connecting your personal API keys. When a BYOK key is active, the corresponding actions do not deduct from your credit balance.

What happens when credits run out?
When your credit balance reaches zero, AI-powered actions are paused until the next monthly reset or until you upgrade your plan. You will see an "Insufficient Credits" message when attempting any credit-consuming action.
All non-credit features remain fully accessible:
- Browsing your analysis history
- Viewing previously generated fixes
- Managing keywords and groups
- Viewing analytics dashboards (data already collected)
